Do you feel like others around you don't understand you? If any of these issues sound like something you say to yourself - I can help!
My name is Michael R. Hemenway and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Connecticut. I love helping others navigate through troubling times. I am a graduate of the Fairfield University Marriage and Family Therapy Program and a clinical fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and relational problems with clients of all different age groups and life scenarios. Since 2012, I have been helping individuals, couples, and families find more internal meaning, healthier coping skills, and ways to keep chaos from taking over the important relationships in their life. I am dedicated to the mission of helping you understand your mental and emotional health.
I am trained as a clinician and a supervisor in Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT). I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and a trauma-informed clinician. I believe that behavior is influenced by the quality of our most important relationships. When our relationships suffer, so does our quality of life. There is always a bigger picture to recognize.
My approach is witty, interactive, persistent, and compassionate. I strive to empower you on your journey through treatment and work closely with you to accomplish your goals.
You have a story to tell and you deserve to be heard. Your perspective has value.
